Funny enough, when I worked for Staples Canada's brand marketing team, we created a super awesome campaign with OG Anunoby, who was then with the Raptors. We worked with the Raptors team to create a whole universe around him based on the premise that the coach told him to "make the paint his office" and he took it literally, to the point where he built a full office on the court and ultimately ascended to the level of mega CEO of a company called OG Corp. OG and Raptors fans were gagged. Not sure where I'm going with this, but the campaign worked I think because OG is such an unassuming guy and not your typical "superstar player." The fake website we created still exists: https://www.ogcorp.me/

no way, this site is AMAZING. i am obsessed lol. OG is exactly the kind of player that i feel gets overlooked with the league having so much tunnel vision for a lebron, shai etc type character. He has so much charm just from being himself.

haha, thank you. This was such a fun project to work on. And OG was a joy to work with. Definitely a career highlight!

Love this! Fake websites can be epic failures of taste or spectacularly funny. And this is nothing short of amazing!

Thank you! Full team credit goes to the Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment creative team - they are full-on geniuses and know how to energize the players' fans :)

Few follow-ups on the ball-knowing section. Shai has the Juice and I think the Converse move is a smart long-term play. Though more nonchalant and less vocal than a star like Anthony Edwards, he carries a different kind of swag and lets his play and outfits do the talking. Love the critique on the NBA's outdated superstar growth strategy as well! Also to backtrack, it does seem like Nike is trying to be everywhere with their collabs and partnerships which makes it difficult for the good ones to shine through. More niche collabs that feel less forced will do them some good..

really been loving yungblud’s PR run for the new album - taking over bars and bringing famous friends along for it, just feels like something a rockstar should be doing instead of a bunch of man on the street tiktok videos (why do they have fka doing those?? 😭). the PR landscape seems insane but at the same time so many opportunities for a smart team to do something cool!!
